Waldon Studio Architects [WSA] worked with a private developer to study the feasibility of a 5.5 acre urban site for redevelopment into a mixed use project intended to serve as an urban catalyst for the northeast Washington, DC residential and commercial neighborhood. The project included affordable and market-rate housing, outdoor amenities, commercial space, below grade parking, and explored a new charter school. The design maintains the historic street-level facades and the upper levels of the project step back to honor the existing scale of the street.
