Michael Graves Architecture & Design has acquired Waldon Studio Architects.

Kingdom Fellowship AME

Kingdom Fellowship AME acquired a multi-building commercial property intending to initially convert one building into their primary ministry center and the second building into a community center and housing in a future phase.

Structural and spatial limitations in the existing 5-story office building led to the design of an addition to create a 1600-seat worship auditorium. The new addition provided an opportunity to develop a new identity for the building that was more suited to the church’s vision and personality. The unique design derives from the name of the church “Kingdom.” The Bible says that “the Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure found in a field” (Matthew 13:44). This imagery is expressed by a new faceted jewel-like entry to the building, accomplished using a geometric structural glazing system, that has a dynamic presence and invites visitors to come in a discover the Kingdom of God.

The interior seeks to form a seamless and integrated design between the exterior, lobbies, offices, classrooms, and sanctuary. Specialty ceiling materials and lighting fixtures were chosen to enhance the architectural features of the building and support the people-centric environment.

Waldon Studio Architects serves as the lead design architect for the exterior building expression and interior design and worked with HCO Inc as the executive architect.
