MacArthur Middle School, Anne Arundel County Public Schools

Waldon Studio Architects [WSA] worked closely with James Posey Engineering on this project to coordinate over 210,000 square feet of renovations, in nearly every room of the facility. The scope of work for this project includes a full systematic replacement of the heating and cooling systems, and complete window and ceiling replacement throughout MacArthur Middle School, a two-story facility located on Fort Meade. WSA performed site visits, field verification of all existing ceilings and openings, and reviewed existing drawings to determine the appropriate design direction for window and ceiling replacement throughout the entire building. Roof replacement, patching, and repairs corresponded with the HVAC renovations. WSA also worked with the county to determine the appropriate fire and life safety solutions, as the existing building is not equipped with a sprinkler or up to current code.
