Waldon Studio Architects [WSA] provided full design and engineering for the fast track renovation and modernization of Nalle Elementary School. The school is a 1950s building totaling 72,000 SF. Working with consultants, the team evaluated all building systems and designed a full Phase 1 renovation, that includes classroom [art, music, special needs and computer rooms] modernizations as well as a media center, administration spaces, restrooms, ADA upgrades, HVAC and electrical upgrades. The building entrances have been updated with new curtain wall and canopy systems, providing a new identity for the existing facility. The entries to the building and all windows were upgraded. New landscaping rounds out the work effort for this nine million dollar renovation. This was a high intensity project with a very tight schedule, and the design team worked very closely with the Construction Manager to keep the project on budget and on time.
