The existing Seneca Creek Community Church facility is a two-story building with 26,000 SF of space. In 2013, due to their growing congregation, Seneca Creek identified the need to reprogram their space, and launched an interior renovation project with WSA. The interior renovation includes ten classrooms, worship spaces, new lobby seating areas, and offices (all built in the 1970s). WSA met with church stakeholders and ministry leaders to reprogram the building in way that would take full advantage of the existing space, create a lively environment, and add functionality to areas that were underutilized. Challenges of this project included: age of the facility, tight project constraints in the shell of the building, bringing in bright and natural light, and ADA requirements.
